NEW DELHI: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Andhra Pradesh inaugurated the Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya academic complex on December 23, 2021. The complex was inaugurated by Ram Madhav, former national general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and executive body member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

A lecture on the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) was delivered by Madhav on the topic ‘New World Order: Post-Covid education in particular’ as part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav celebrations. Floral tributes were made by dignitaries for Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, said an official statement from the institute.

“The world order has transformed during the COVID-19 pandemic period. Technology dominates the world. Digital technology has huge potential in sectors like education, defence, aerospace, healthcare, energy, security, agriculture and governance and so on. Artificial Intelligence will soon be able to solve societal issues, climate change issues,” Madhav said.

“People and governments across the world should adapt to the technological developments in the new world order. Educational institutes should support students in innovative projects”, Madhav further said.

“NIT Andhra is developing digital infrastructure and initiating training programs to hone the skills of students. All national mission-based events of the government such as swachh Bharat, make in India, swachhta pakhwada, digital India, fit India, azadi ka amrut mahotsav etc are being conducted,” said CSP Rao, director of NIT Andhra Pradesh.

NIT Andhra Pradesh has recently begun an induction programme for first-year engineering students for the academic year 2021-22. The programme is scheduled to be held from December 15 to 24, 2021 in online mode. The classes for these BTech students will start from December 27, 2021, in virtual mode.

In another recent initiative, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee established a bio-incubator for start-ups in biotechnology and allied fields with top-notch labs and equipment.
