NIT Andhra Pradesh is organizing a five-day online training from November 22 to November 26, 2021.
NEW DELHI: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Andhra Pradesh is working towards providing a platform for smart power systems for researchers. NIT Andhra Pradesh is hosting a five-day online workshop starting from November 22 to November 26, 2021. The workshop was titled “Data-Driven Strategies in Smart Power Systems and Control-2021.” This programme, organized under AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy intends to spread awareness of data-driven strategies and their frameworks.
Data-driven strategies are dynamic. They are used in smart grids, renewable energy systems, power system stability and security, microgrids, and energy management systems.

“In recent days, impactful algorithms have artificial intelligence (AI) at its core and electrical engineering is no exception. Such algorithms have been critical to bridging the void between raising electrical energy demand and depleting energy sources,” said CSP Rao, professor and director of NIT Andhra Pradesh.
“The transformation from the conventional grid to smart grids has many challenges in the case of the Indian scenario particularly. Advanced computational and communication technologies are required to create an end-to-end cyber-enabled electric power system.”- said DM Vinod Kumar, professor, department of electrical engineering in NIT Warangal while delivering the inaugural lecture on ‘Modern Techniques in Smart Power System’

The five-day workshop aims to create awareness of the data-driven methods in smart power systems and controlling applications. It will develop hands-on experience in the simulation of fundamentals on deep learning models using Python and its applications in power systems. The workshop will develop hands-on experience on Simscape Onramp in MATLAB and explore the knowledge on the impact of artificial intelligence on missile weapon systems design.
