NLU Odisha 2026 placements: 40 PPOs, 19 campus offers; Rs 22.5 lakh highest package

The 2026 graduating batch recorded 40 pre-placement offers, 19 campus placements, seven litigation chamber placements and 10 confirmed LL.M. admissions.

The 2026 graduating batch of the five-year LL.B. programme at National Law University Odisha (NLUO) has recorded 76 placement and higher education outcomes so far, out of 94 students who participated in the recruitment process, according to the university. Of the 76 outcomes, 40 were pre-placement offers (PPOs), 19 were secured through campus placement drives, seven students joined litigation chambers and 10 secured confirmed admission to LL.M. programmes. Overall, 80.85% of the students who participated in the recruitment process have secured a job.

The highest annual package stood at Rs 22.5 lakh, while the median package was Rs 13.5 lakh, according to the placement data. Among law firms, Trilegal emerged as the leading recruiter with five offers. Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, S&R Associates, Saraf & Partners and DWF extended three offers each. Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, Argus Partners and Saakshya Law made two offers each. Other law firms that recruited from the batch included AZB & Partners, Khaitan & Co., Sensato Legal, Bharucha & Partners, Game Changer Law Advisors, CMS Indus Law, AKS Partners, BMR Legal, Lawfinity Solutions, S&A Law Offices, PSL Law Offices, Wadhwa Law Chambers, Eva Law, Verist Law, Economic Law Practice, ASV Legal LLP and Gadi and Associates, with one offer each.

In the corporate and banking sector, IDBI Bank was the leading recruiter with seven offers, followed by Ashok Leyland with two. ICICI Bank, Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) and Kalpataru each made one offer.

Fellowship, leadership programme

The recruitment process also saw students securing opportunities with organisations beyond conventional law firms and in-house legal teams. Consilio LLC, Varahe Analytics, Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, Spotdraft and Commwiser LLP each selected one student. One student each also secured the PRS India LAMP Fellowship and the Graduate Impact Leadership Programme at Nation with Namo.

Seven students joined litigation chambers. Dalal Chambers recruited two students, while NJ Law Chambers, Reddy Law Chambers, the Chamber of C.K. Nandakumar, the Chamber of Pranjal Singh and PVS Giridhar Associates each took on one student.

Meanwhile, 10 students secured confirmed admission to LL.M. programmes at institutions including the National Law School of India University, NUJS Kolkata, NLIU Bhopal, HNLU Raipur, King's College London, IIFT Delhi, Tata Institute of Social Sciences and NUALS Kochi. The university said several other graduates are preparing for competitive examinations, including the civil services, judiciary, JAG and CAT, while others are pursuing higher studies.

The Recruitment Coordination Committee (RCC) for the 2026 batch conducted initiatives including placement-preparation courses, CV drafting sessions and mock interviews to prepare students for recruitment. The university also attributed part of the placement success to its alumni network, with alumni holding senior positions across law firms, in-house legal teams and litigation chambers.

According to placement coordinator Dr Arjyalopa Mishra, NLUO alumni played a significant role in facilitating the recruitment process. The university said its administration, including Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) K. Vidyullatha Reddy, Registrar Prof. Dr. Rangin Pallav Tripathy, Placement Coordinator Dr. Arjyalopa Mishra and faculty advisors Dr Kaushiki Brahma and Dr Rashmi Rekha Baug, supported the recruitment process.

NLUO also said students from the 2022-27 batch have already received PPOs from organisations including Khaitan & Co., AZB & Partners, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Bombay Law Chambers, Aquilaw and ICICI Bank. The batch remains open to further recruitment opportunities.
