Try NowNEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted JEE Main 2020 exam from September 1 to 6 amidst the pandemic. Since the day exam concluded, students have been waiting for the JEE main result date 2020 because it was supposed to be released early for this session. The reason being that the session is already much delayed and JEE Advanced 2020 registrations are starting on September 12.

JEE Main September 2020 result is not just about marks scored because exam is conducted for a number of days in multiple sessions. Thus, to balance out the level of difficulty, NTA JEE Main results are calculated through a special process called ‘Normalization’. Here, we explain how JEE Main results are prepared using the NTA normalization process.
What is Normalization Process for NTA JEE Main?

The first step to JEE Main 2020 result is calculation of scores. The authorities consider individual scores (also called raw marks) following the predetermined marking scheme.

The candidate raw scores are then normalized using the formula

Calculation of JEE Main percentile using NTA normalized scores

Inter-se merit - In case two or more candidates have obtained the same score, in such case inter-se merit rules are followed to prepare the JEE Main rank list

This is followed by preparation of rank list based on JEE Main percentile score (upto 7th digit)
