NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has begun the registration process for the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2025 exam today, February 20. The NCET 2025 exam is scheduled to be held on April 29. Eligible candidates can fill out the NTA NCET 2025 application form at exams.nta.ac.in/NCET or nta.ac.in.

The last date to register for the NTA NCET 2025 exam is March 16. The NTA NCET 2025 exam will be conducted to offer admission to the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), government institutes, and other participating institutions.

As per the official schedule, the NTA will open the application correction window to make changes in particulars from March 18 to March 19, 2025. The NTA NCET 2025 exam city will be announced in the first week of April 2025. NCET admit card 2025 will be available for download three to four days before the actual exam date.

The NTA will conduct the NCET 2025 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across 178 cities in India. The exam will be available in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

NTA NCET 2025: Application fee

Candidates from general (Unreserved - UR) categories are required to pay Rs 1,200 to register for the NCET 2025 exam. Candidates from Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories are required to pay Rs 1,000. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and third-gender candidates, the NCET 2025 registration fee is Rs 650.

NTA NCET 2025: Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for the NCET 2025 exam are given below.

Age Limit: There is no age limit for candidates appearing in NCET 2025. Candidates who have passed or are appearing for the Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2025, regardless of their age, are eligible to take the exam. However, candidates must meet the age criteria (if any) set by the university, institution, or government college where they seek admission.

Qualifying examinations

  • Candidates must have cleared the final examination of the Class 12 conducted by any recognised central or state board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi or the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi.
  • Candidates must have passed the Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized board or university.
  • Candidates must have completed the final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy (NDA).
  • Candidates must have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with a minimum of five subjects.
  • Candidates must have appeared for a Public School, Board, or University examination in India or abroad, recognized as equivalent to the Class 12 by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • Candidates must have qualified for the Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
  • Candidates who have completed Class 12 (or equivalent) outside India or from a board not mentioned above must provide a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) confirming equivalency with the Class 12 examination.
