NTA to reopen application form window for J&K candidates for UGC-NET, JEE Main and other exams

New Delhi, November 1: National Testing Agency (NTA) will reopen the online application window of four main exams that will be conducted in the upcoming months. The application window of UGC-NET, JEE Main 2020, Joint CSIR-UGC NET and IIFT will be reopened only for candidates from Jammu & Kashmir. It should be noted that only those candidates who are willing to appear for the exams in the cities of Jammu and Kashmir will be allowed to fill the application form. The application window will be reopened from November 4 to 8, 2019.

The decision has come after the order from Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, Srinagar & Jammu showing concern towards students who failed to apply for these important examinations before the deadline due to political conditions in the state.

UGC NET, Joint CSIR-UGC NET, JEE Main, and IIFT will be conducted by the NTA. NTA will conduct the UGC-NET December 2019 on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) from December 2 to 6, 2019 to determine the eligibility of candidates as Assistant Professors and awarding Junior Research Fellowship Programme (JRF). CSIR UGC NET exam is conducted for appointment of Lecturers in subjects under the faculty of Science and Technology and awarding Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). JEE Main is conducted for admission to engineering courses, and IIFT is conducted for admission to the MBA course.
