NTA revises UGC NET 2018 dates; exam to be held from Dec 18 to 22

New Delhi, October 21: The National Testing Agency has revised the examination dates for UGC NET 2018 December session. As per the revised dates, the examination will now be held from December 18 to 22, in two shifts. Besides announcing the new dates for the test, the authority has also released the shift timings for the exam, reflects a notification by NTA.

As per the official notification, UGC NET 2018 will be held in online mode from 9.30 am to 1 pm (first shift) and 2.30 pm to 6 pm (second shift) on December 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22. Earlier, the authority had declared that the exam would be held on Saturdays and Sundays, between December 9 to 23. However, with the new exam dates, now UGC NET 2018 will be held in 5 consecutive days.
The admit card of UGC NET 2018 for the registered candidates will be available in online mode from November 19 onwards. In case candidates find any discrepancy in the admit card details, they have to immediately contact the Help Line number between 10 am to 5 pm, from November 19 to 25, 2018. However, the required changes in the admit card with discrepancies would be made by the NTA later and candidates would have to appear in the examination with the already downloaded admit card with discrepancies.
The exact details of the exam centre, timing and shift of UGC NET 2018 December session will be reflected on the admit card of the candidates.
It must be noted that NTA would not allow any candidate to enter the exam centre after 8.30 am for the first shift and after 1.30 pm for the second shift. The notification reads, "Candidates are advised to report at the Examination Centre well in time. Candidates will not be permitted to enter in the Examination Centre after 8.30 a.m. in First shift and after 1.30 p.m. in the Second shift."
A few changes have been introduced for UGC NET which would be implemented from December 2018 onwards. First, in place of CBSE, NTA would conduct UGC NET. Secondly, the examination would now be held in online mode in place of the earlier offline mode.
UGC NET is held for two papers - paper I and Paper II. Paper I is of generic nature and is common for all candidates, while paper II is held for the specific subject opted by the candidates.
