NEW DELHI: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has extended the last date for registration for the Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST) 2025 till November 19 for admission to Classes 9 and 11 in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) for the academic year 2025-26. Eligible candidates can apply for the selection test by visiting the official website, cbseitms.nic.in. LEST 2025 will be conducted on February 8, 2025.

“Online registration for Admission against vacant seats to classes IX & XI (session 2025-26) in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas through selection test is in progress. The last date of submission of online applications is extended up to 19th November, 2024. Candidates may apply free of cost,” said NVS in an official notice.

The correction window for making modifications in LEST 2025 application form will remain open for two days after the last date of registration. Registered candidates will be allowed to edit the fields including gender, category (general/OBC/SC/ST), area (rural/urban), disability and medium of examination.

NVS Admission 2025: Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for Class 9 registration is given below.

  • Candidates who are bonafide residents of the district concerned where wish to apply and should have resident of the same district.
  • Candidates who are bonafide residents and studying Class 8 during the academic session 2024-25 in one of the government or government-recognized schools of the district where the JNV is functioning and where admission is sought, are eligible.
  • District of residence and district of Class 6 study should be same in respect of candidates who desire to apply for admission to Class 9 (session 2025-26) in the JNV located in the same district.
  • Date of Birth of the candidate must be between May 1, 2010 to July 31, 2012 (both days inclusive). This is applicable to all categories of candidates including those who belong to the SC and ST.
  • Only Indian Nationals, who are studying Class 8 in India in the district concerned are eligible to apply.

The eligibility criteria for Class 11 registration is given below.

  • Date of birth of the candidate is to be between June 1, 2008 to July 31, 2010 (both days inclusive). This is applicable to all categories of candidates including those who belong to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Candidates who have passed Class 10 prior to the session 2024-25 are not eligible. Candidates who are studying in Class 10 during the session 2024-25 only are eligible to apply.
  • Candidate must be studying in Class 10 from a government or government-recognized school (affiliated to CBSE or any other state education board or other government-recognized board) of the district where the JNV is located during the academic session 2024-25 (April 2024 to March 2025 session)/ 2024 (January to December 2024 session).
  • Only Indian Nationals, who are studying Class 10 in India are eligible to apply.
