Online registration begins for CBSE class 10, 12 private candidates
NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 24: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started online registrations for students who wish to appear as private candidates to improve their performance in class 10th and 12th board exams. The exams are scheduled to be conducted in February, March or April 2019.

Registrations began on October 23, 2018 and will go on till November 17, 2018. The application fee for five subjects is Rs. 900 and Rs. 80 per practical or projects work for both class 10th and 12th. Students have the option to submit their application forms till December 14, 2018, albeit against a late fee of Rs. 5000 in addition to the prescribed fee. Visually Impaired candidates are exempted from paying the fee as long as they submit the same within the given duration. Students will be able to fill the form and submit the fee online only on the official website of the CBSE.
Candidates who have been declared as Fail or candidates who could not appear for the exams due to medical reasons or candidates under compartment category or candidates who want to improve their marks in one or more subjects are eligible to apply as Private candidates.
Admit cards for private candidates will be available on the official website of CBSE in February 2019 and the result will be declared by May or June 2019. Original mark sheets will be dispatched to the candidates sometime after the result by speed post.
