OTET 2024 registration begins at bseodisha.ac.in; know eligibility criteria

NEW DELHI: The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha has begun the registration process for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2024. Eligible candidates will be able to fill out the OTET 2024 registration form by visiting the official website, bseodisha.ac.in. The deadline to fill out the application form is July 5.
Candidates from scheduled caste (SC) and scheduled tribe (ST) will have to pay an application fee of Rs 600 for a single paper and Rs 900 for both papers; paper 1 and paper 2. Candidates from all other category should pay Rs 900 for single paper and Rs 1,400 for both papers.
The OTET 2024 examination will consist of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Each examination will be conducted for 2.5 hours. Both papers will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark. There will be no negative marking.
OTET 2024: Eligibility criteria
Candidates can check the eligibility criteria for OTET 2024 given below.
Category A
-
Higher secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd). Or
-
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd). Or
-
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). Or
-
Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (BEd)

Category B
-
Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). Or
-
Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (BEd). Or
-
Graduation with at least 45% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. Or
-
Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (BElEd). Or
-
Higher secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Arts-Bachelor of Science in Education (BA-BScEd) or Bachelor of Arts Education-Bachelor of Science Education (BAEd-BScEd). Or
-
Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year BEd (Special Education).
For the OTET 2024 examination, the minimum qualifying marks vary by category. General category candidates should secure at least 60%. Candidates belonging to scheduled castes (SC), scheduled tribes (ST), socially and educationally backward classes (SEBC), and other backward classes (OBC) should score a minimum of 50%.
