Over 1,770 women joined NCW, IIM Bangalore’s online entrepreneurship course

The National Commission for Women (NCW) and IIMB offered the online ‘Do Your Venture’ course for women.
NEW DELHI: Over 1,770 women participated in an online course for women entrepreneurs offered by the National Commission for Women (NCW) in partnership with Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). Women from across the country participated in the “Do Your Venture” course.
Of the 1,773 learners to join NCW’s “Empowering Women through Entrepreneurship Program”, 852 learners completed the module.
The course was launched in partnership with Nadathur S. Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL), the start-up hub of IIM Bangalore and IIMBx, the digital learning initiative of IIM Bangalore. More than 1,000 women entrepreneurs participated in the online course which sought to equip women with tools and techniques that help generate ideas and motivate them to start their own business.
“This fully sponsored course by NCW is designed to give hands-on, action oriented, systematic, and scientific management lessons to 5000 budding women entrepreneurs for identifying, evaluating and testing entrepreneurial opportunities.” says a statement.

“Socio-economic development can be achieved only when women become equal partners in the workforce. The National Commission for Women is proud to have handheld so many women in realizing their dream of becoming entrepreneurs. We believe that the beneficiaries of this program will inspire other women to become self-reliant thereby leading to larger involvement of women in India’s workforce,” said Rekha Sharma, chairperson, NCW, in the statement.
Venkatesh Panchapagesan, chairperson, NSRCEL, reflected upon the challenges brought in by the pandemic and how this programme has uplifted women to turn this situation into an opportunity.
