NEW DELHI: The Pakistan ministry of foreign affairs has expressed disapproval towards the public notice issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), asking students to not travel to Pakistan to pursue higher education.
UGC and AICTE warned the students that those students who acquired educational qualifications from Pakistan will not be eligible for seeking employment or higher studies in India. In a statement by the Pakistan foreign affairs ministry, Pakistan claimed that they have sought clarification from the government of India regarding the notice.
Pakistan's external affairs ministry termed the tone of the notice to be threatening towards students. "It is regrettable that driven by its incurable obsession with Pakistan, the Government of India is unabashedly coercing the students in order to deter them from pursuing quality education of their choice," the ministry said in a statement.

Pakistan accused the Indian government of its BJP-RSS driven ideology and hostility towards Pakistan. "It is deplorable that as part of its mission “Hindu Rashtra,” the Indian government has resorted to such moves in order to stoke hyper-nationalism in the country," the statement said.
Pakistan also said that it will take required measures if necessary, in response to the action by UGC and AICTE and termed the notice as discriminatory and inexplicable.
