NEW DELHI: Students of Pearl Academy Kolkata, who will take admission from 2024 onwards, will be awarded bachelor and master degrees. The development comes after the Creative Arts Education Society (CAES) signed an agreement with the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), an Institute of national importance under the union ministry of youth affairs and sports.
The Pearl Academy has also realigned its educational programmes into seven verticals – fashion, business, interiors, communication design, product design, and gaming. The institute has also announced that it will start programmes in animation, visual effects, gaming, and comic (AVGC) domain.
To provide best training and education in AVGC programmes, Pearl Academy has acquired FX Studio and EDGE Metaversity and entered into an academic partnership with the IAMAG. “This strategic move will enable the institute to nurture the next generation of creative professionals in the AVGC industry, providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in this dynamic and exciting field,” it added.
The curriculum of the institute includes courses in Web 3.0 and Metaverse, artificial intelligence and machine learning, augmented reality and virtual reality, Adobe XD and Figma, Python, and 3D printing. The institution also provides modern resources such as Adobe Creative Suite, WGSN, and a digital library. A total of 35% credits will be attributed to tech-driven curricula, ensuring that our students are well-prepared for the digital age.
Pearl Academy offers its students with opportunities of summer workshops and exchange programmes at several international institutions. Students of the institution have participated in events such as the London Fashion Week and Lakme Fashion Week. It has partnerships with organisations like the International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes (IFFTI) and the Graduate Fashion Foundation (GFF) and collaborations with brands such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, TCC, DLF Emporio Mercedes, Bequest Group, and others.
