QS World University Rankings By Subject 2023: IIT Kanpur ranks 85th globally, 5th domestically
IIT Kanpur's 2 programmes ranks in top 100 while 2 rank in top 125 globally. IITK has jumped 37 places in its overall ranking.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) has secured the 85th rank in the QS world university rankings globally in the engineering and technology category, and 5th place in India.
The institute ranked 96th in the top 100 universities in the world for computer science and information systems has climbed up by 13 places as compared to last year. In the electrical and electronic engineering universities, it ranked 87th and has placed higher by 21 places since last year.

In addition to this, IIT has also secured 121st position in mechanical, aeronautical and manufacturing engineering field and 122nd place in mathematics. Meanwhile, in the natural sciences domain, IITK has received 248th position globally and 5th domestically.
Every year, the QS world ranking by subject evaluates universities based on their academic reputation, research impact, and employer reputation in specific subjects. The rankings are recognised as a benchmark for excellence in education.
