Rajasthan NEET UG counselling board cancels MBBS admissions of 100 students at PMCH

Download EBookNEW DELHI: In a huge disappointment to Rajasthan MBBS aspirants, the state NEET UG counselling board has cancelled the admissions of 100 undergraduate students at Pacific Medical College and Hospital following a court order, asking the college not to allow candidates to attend classes. The students were admitted to newly allotted seats for admissions through the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) UG counselling 2024.

“In compliance with the interim order passed by the Hon'ble Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur, on 05.11.2024, in DB Special Appeal (Writ) No. 1032/2024, the admissions of candidates who had joined based on the single bench order are immediately cancelled. It is directed that these candidates shall not be allowed to attend classes at Pacific Medical College and Hospital, Bhilon Ka Bedla, Udaipur. The total number of MBBS seats at Pacific Medical College and Hospital , Bhilon Ka Bedla, Udaipur, shall be limited to 150,” the state counselling authority said in the latest notification.
The counselling board added that in case any student wishes to claim a refund of the one-year tuition fee submitted to the board, he or she can apply personally to the chairman of NEET UG 2024 for the same.
A division bench of the Rajasthan HC, in an interim order, stayed an order passed by a single-judge bench allowing the private medical college to increase MBBS seat intake by 100 seats, from 150 to 250. The allocation and joining of students against these seats were made subject to the decision of the Division Bench Special Appeal to be filed in the High Court.
Students were allotted the seats in PMCH Udaipur in the stray vacancy round of Rajasthan NEET UG counselling 2024. As per the schedule, the last day to report at the allotted college was November 5.
