Rajasthan education department issues guidelines to take action against absent teachers

NEW DELHI: Rajasthan primary education department has issued guidelines to take action against teachers and employees who remain absent for a long period of time without notice.

In the guidelines, the department has directed school authorities to take strict action against such teachers.

The department has asked to ensure a system where an immediate action is taken against a teacher or employee who remains absent without getting leave sanctioned from the concerned even after the prescribed period (10-15 days).

The department said that if any concerned authority or head of the institution doesn’t take necessary action or delays the process against absentees, they will face consequences.

Without leave approval, if a teacher is present at the workplace even after the above stipulated period, the head of the institution should not waste time in making unnecessary correspondence or seeking guidance and take action to get the work done as per rules immediately, the guidelines iterated.

Further, the education department directed school heads to take immediate disciplinary action against teachers and employees who are currently on leave without approval.

Recently, the Rajasthan education department issued guidelines for survey, identification and enrolment of Children with Special Needs (CWSN) in schools.

According to an official notification from the department, all schools have to complete the process of conducting a survey on CWSN students and their identification within the months of December 2021 and January 2022.
