RRB Technician recruitment 2026 short notification out; registration starts from June 30

RRB has issued the short Technician notification for grade I signal and grade III posts; detailed notification will be released on June 29
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the RRB Technician short notification 2026 (CEN 02/2026) on the official website of RRB at rrbapply.gov.in. The board will release the full notification tomorrow, June 29, 2026. This recruitment aims to fill a total of 6,565 vacancies for technician grade I (signal) and grade III posts.
The online application process for the recruitment will begin on June 30, 2026, and candidates can submit their applications until July 29, 2026 (11:59 pm) through the official recruitment portal. Applicants are advised to complete the registration process well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.
The selection process will be conducted in three stages. Candidates will first have to appear for a computer-based test (CBT). Those who qualify will be called for document verification, followed by a medical examination. Final selection will be made only after candidates successfully clear all the prescribed stages.

RRB Technician Notification 2026: Eligibility criteria
Candidates applying for the recruitment should have completed Matriculation/SSLC and possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from an institute recognised by NCVT or SCVT. Those holding an Act Apprenticeship certificate in the relevant trade are also eligible to apply. For the Technician Grade I Signal post, candidates may additionally be required to hold a Diploma or Degree in the relevant branch of Engineering.
The prescribed age limit is 18 to 33 years for Technician Grade I Signal posts and 18 to 30 years for Technician Grade III posts. However, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be eligible for upper age relaxation in accordance with the applicable government rules.
RRB Technician Notification 2026: Pay scale
Under the 7th pay commission, candidates appointed as technician grade-I signal will receive an initial basic pay of Rs 29,200 per month under pay level 5, while those selected for technician grade-III posts will be placed in pay level 2 with a starting basic pay of Rs 19,900 per month.

In addition to the basic salary, employees will be entitled to various allowances and benefits, including dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA), transport allowance (TA), pension benefits, medical facilities, and railway travel concessions, as per applicable rules.
