Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology awards over 4,000 degrees on 32nd convocation

AICTE chairman TG Sitharam awarded degrees to 3,504 graduates, 551 postgraduates, and 104 PhD scholars of SIST, Chennai.
NEW DELHI: Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, celebrated its 32nd convocation on August 14 at its institution auditorium. TG Sitharam, chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the university chancellor Mariazeena Johnson were the chief guests on the occasion.
Sitharam awarded degrees to 3,504 graduates, 551 postgraduates, nine students of Diploma in Pharmacy and 104 PhD scholars during the convocation. 47 received gold medals for their performance in academics in various fields.

The university said that in the academic year 2022-23, 384 companies conducted an on-campus recruitment drive, in which 3,094 students got job offers. “As many as 91.62% of our students have been placed through our campus recruitment programme with the highest package of Rs 53 lakh per annum. The average job offer that student got was Rs 5.40 lakh per annum,” the university said.
Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology was set up 36 years ago. It is ranked 51 in the National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF). It has been accorded the deemed to be university status by the government. “Sathyabama maintains a high standard in teaching, training, and research. The continuous efforts by all the stakeholders, students, parents, industry and alumni are making Sathyabama achieve greater heights, every year,” the university said.
It added that companies such as ARI, Deloitte, Comcast, Olam, Tata Communication, Mindtree, Renault Nissan, TCS, Bank of America and others conduct frequent on-campus placement at the university.
