Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology launches ANBU initiative to safeguard women's health

NEW DELHI: Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology has launched a new initiative on women empowerment ‘ANBU’ with an aim to safeguard women's health. During the event, Sathyabama’s ANBU health cards were also distributed to women staff, girl students and women in public life.

Through the health cards, individuals can access various health examinations such as mammograms, blood tests, screenings for diabetes, eye care, oral health, abdominal scans, and hemoglobin counts at Sathyabama Hospital.

The campaign was launched by the Chancellor Mariazeena Johnson, Samantha Ruth Prabhu felicitated the event as the guest of honour.

ANBU aims to promote women well-being

Mariazeena Johnson focused upon the need of taking care of one’s health as the most important aspect of every woman that would continue to help her as the foundation of her family during her address. “The initiative aims to reach out to the heart of every woman and promote wellbeing among women, underlying its potential to significantly impact womens’ lives positively”, Johnson said.

She also spoke about possible self-health progress monitoring measures and spoke about the institute’s various welfare activities for women.

Actress Samantha Prabhu said “Women put themselves last and think it is selfish to think of themselves. So an awareness of wellness in health is essential and the statistics of women's health at present is much concerning”.

Sathyabama hospital provides health care across multiple departments including general medicine, general surgery, cardiology, endocrinology, diabetology, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, dental sciences, dermatology, ENT, orthopedics, ophthalmology, urology, and nephrology.
