SCERT Delhi to conduct State Achievement Survey this year

SCERT will conduct SAS 2022 for Classes 3, 5, 8 and 10 of Delhi government, government-aided and private schools in October last week.
NEW DELHI: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Delhi is going to conduct a State Achievement Survey (SAS) in Delhi in the academic year 2022-23. The survey will be conducted for Classes 3, 5, 8, and 10 of government, government-aided and private schools in Delhi. The Council has given a proposal to conduct the survey in the last week of October.

“NEP 2020, speaks briefly that SCERTs will conduct State Achievement Survey (SAS) for continuous improvement of school education system in the years when National Achievement Survey is not being held. NAS was conducted across the country November 2021 by NCERT under the aegis of MoE, GOI,” said an official notification from SCERT.
Schools under the central government will not be covered under this survey, SCERT added.
In the National Achievement Survey (NAS) 2021, Delhi remained at the third-fourth position in highest mean scores in Class 10 languages and mathematics. However, it ranked low in mathematics in Class 3.

Punjab and Rajasthan had emerged as the top performers among states in the NAS 2021 report released by the education ministry on May 25.
The survey was conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in 22 languages. Children were tested on language, mathematics and EVS for Class 3 and 5; language, mathematics, science and social science for Class 8 and language, mathematics, science, social science and English for Class 10.
About 34 lakh students of 1.18 lakh schools in 720 districts from both rural and urban areas participated in NAS 2021. The survey was administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in one single day at the same time.
