Parents blamed ongoing construction at a private school for health issues. MNS's youth wing told the Thane civic body that over 45 students and five teachers had mosquito-borne illnesses and urged a halt to classes.

Police said the email led to the deployment of a bomb disposal unit, an anti-sabotage squad, and a dog squad at the school in Udupi. No suspicious object was found on the campus.

Police, after investigation, confirmed the threat was a hoax. A school in Deonar and another in Samta Nagar had received emails, warning of blasts at the institutions and other parts of Mumbai.
