The girl allegedly died by suicide in her house at around 11.30 am when her mother was in market and sister was in library, the police said, adding that when the mother reached home, she found the girl hanging from the ceiling fan.
Akhilesh Maben, chairman of Joy Senior Secondary School in Jabalpur city, was arrested in Kochi with the help of the Airport Authority of India this morning, Vijay Nagar police station house officer Virendra Singh Pawar told PTI.
“All Principals/Hends of schools affiliated CBSE are requested to encourage participation of teachers, students and other stakeholders in the webinar,” the CBSE said.
The incident happened at a primary school in Polur union in the district where the cook Lakshmi and an assistant, Muniammal "beat up a student who asked for an egg as part of the nutritious meal."
"Police have found some evidence, on the basis of which we are confident that the girls will be traced soon," an official said. Sensing the seriousness of the matter, the district magistrate visited the school and spoke to some local people.
The commission Chairperson Ratan Anya emphasised the need for effective implementation of Section 12(1)(c) of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, to ensure free and compulsory elementary education for at least 25% of students from weaker sections in private unaided schools.
When the victim's father contacted the headmaster, he was told that the school had warned the senior students who were involved in the incident.
The Supreme Court invalidated the appointment of 25,753 teachers and other staff of state-run and state-aided schools.
