Shiv Nadar institution launches state of the art supercomputer; Cluster ranked 32 all over India

Shiv Nadar institution has named the supercomputer as 'Magus', whose objective is to facilitate and aid research by providing powerful computing resources.
NEW DELHI : The Shiv Nadar institution has launched a state of art supercomputer named 'Magus', today on April 12, 2023. The supercomputer, according to the institute, is a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster, whose objective is to provide powerful computing resources for processing large amounts of data quickly and accurately.
A statement from the institute also stated that the HPC cluster has been ranked at the 32nd position all over India, in the list of high-performance supercomputers.

Officials of the institution informed that the HPC cluster will be utilised in many research areas, including engineering, physics, chemistry, artificial intelligence (AI) etc. The press release issued by the institution stated that the HPC can simulate physical phenomena, analyze and process large datasets, and develop new algorithms and software. It further mentioned that the cluster's all such characteristics will allow the students to gain hands-on experience with advanced computing technologies and simulate real-world scenarios.
The institution's vice-chancellor, Ananya Mukherjee said: "We are delighted to offer our faculty and students access to the new HPC cluster. With this advanced system, our researchers can perform complex simulations, more easily analyse large data sets and enhance their research. The facility represents a significant investment in research at our institution. We hope that our research will continue to impact the world in a meaningful way".
