SLAT 2021: Know about test pattern and syllabus

NEW DELHI: Symbiosis International University (SIU) will conduct SLAT 2021 for admission to BA LLB and BBA LLB programmes. The four law schools of SIU will offer a total of 1,080 seats in the undergraduate law programmes. As of now, the test is scheduled to be held on June 27, 2021. However, the exam authorities may change the exam date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Candidates preparing for the Symbiosis Law Aptitude Test (SLAT) 2021 should be up to date with the latest test structure and syllabus. Recently, the exam authorities have changed the SLAT pattern by reducing the number of questions asked in the examination and by adding the Writing Ability Test (WAT) alongside the test.

SLAT 2021 will be divided into five sections.

• Logical Reasoning

• Legal Reasoning

• Analytical Reasoning

• Reading Comprehension

• General Knowledge

Each section will carry equal weightage in terms of the number of questions and marks asked in the test. From each section, 15 objective type questions carrying one mark each will be asked. The distribution of questions and marks is given below.

Cracking SLAT 2021 will not be difficult for those following a set routine and are consistent with preparation. Candidates should focus on conceptual understanding and keep practising in a time-bound manner.

For comprehension based questions, candidates should focus on developing good reading skills. It becomes a time-consuming section for those who are not well prepared for reading complex texts in the English language.

For the general knowledge section, students are encouraged to read newspapers daily. In addition, reading general knowledge and polity books will be of great help in dealing with this section. Students should also read monthly current affairs books for this section.
