Assam TET 2026 registration begins for lower, upper primary levels; apply by February 7

Assam TET Registration 2026: Candidates can pay the application fee online at sebaonline.org by February 10.
The Department of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam has started the registration process for the special Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET 2026) for lower and upper primary levels in Bodo, Garo, Manipuri, and Hmar mediums. Eligible candidates can register for the Assam TET 2026 through the official website at sebaonline.org.
The last date to register for Assam TET 2026 is February 7, and the link will be active by 5 pm; the fee payment window will close on February 10.
To complete the Assam TET 2026 registration, candidates from the General category will have to pay Rs 550 per paper, while SC, ST, OBC, and MOBC candidates need to pay Rs 450, and PwD candidates need to pay Rs 300.
A special Assam TET examination is conducted for candidates who wish to work as teachers in classes 1 to 8 in government, government-aided, and private schools.

The special Assam TET exam 2026 will be held in seven districts - Cachar, Metro, Kamrup, Dibrugarh, Hojai, Sonitpur, Kokrajhar, and Kamrup. The validity of the Assam TET certificate would remain valid for life from the date of issue of the certificate.
Assam TET 2026: Eligibility criteria
For the lower primary TET (Classes 1 to 5), candidates must have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks and completed a 2-year diploma in elementary education, or a 4-year BElEd degree, or a 2-year diploma in special education, or a 2-year diploma in elementary education.
For the upper primary TET (Classes 6 to 8), candidates must have a graduation degree with a DElEd, BEd, or BEd (special education), or a postgraduate degree with an integrated BEd–MEd, or Class 12 with at least 50% marks and a 4-year BElEd or BA/ BSc education degree.
Candidates who are permanent residents of Assam can apply for Assam TET paper 1 for lower primary classes 1 to 5 and paper 2 for upper primary classes 6 to 8.
How to apply for Assam TET 2026?
Follow the instructions below to fill the application form for the special Assam TET exam 2026 .
- Go to the official website, sebaonline.org.
- Click on the “Special TET-2026 for lower primary and upper primary level” link.
- Find and click on the “Apply online” link.
- Fill the application form with valid information.
- Upload the essential documents in a prescribed format and size.
- Pay the Assam TET application fee online.
- Submit the application and take a printout of it for your reference.
The special Assam TET 2026 will be held in offline mode with 150 MCQs per paper for 150 marks, lasting 2 hours and 30 minutes, and there will be no negative marking.
The Assam TET question paper will include child development and pedagogy, languages, and subject-based questions.
