SPJIMR Annual Convocation 2024: The Dean gave commendation certificates to the 65 recipients of the Dean's Honour List
NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s S P Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai, hosted its 21st annual convocation on May 18. Nearly 700 graduates received their degrees across nine diverse programmes, including full-time, executive, modular and doctoral. These students joined the distinguished ranks of nearly 15,500 SPJIMR alumni worldwide.
Deepak Parekh, chairman of the SPJIMR Governing Council, presided over the ceremony accompanied by the Dean, Varun Nagaraj, associate deans, programme chairs, faculty members, students, their families, and staff. He also congratulated and inspired the young grads on their new path.
65 students on Dean’s Honour List
The Dean gave commendation certificates to the 65 recipients of the Dean's Honour List, while chief guest R Gopalakrishnan, a well-known corporate counsel and author, presented Scholastic Medals to 18 top achievers across programmes.
During his speech, Gopalakrishnan discussed fundamental mindsets and practices crucial for success in any field. He emphasized the importance of institutions instilling future-oriented values across generations. Challenging traditional perspectives on leadership, he encouraged graduates to aspire to values-centered institutions based on Intelligence, Emotion, and Adaptability Quotients. Focusing on 'The Tomorrow Leader', he delineated essential capabilities for tackling future obstacles, while also imparting ten invaluable skills necessary for effective leadership.

He advised, “Leadership is not just about reaching the summit; it’s about leaving a trail for others to climb. Embrace humility, curiosity and adaptability as your guiding lights on this journey towards becoming future-ready leaders.”
Dean, Varun Nagaraj said, “The close of your academic journey is the start of boundless prospects. It is a testament to your resilience and perseverance. Let the knowledge and values you have acquired serve you well. Embrace them and let them navigate you towards excellence, while remaining anchored in humility.”
