SRCC presents alumnus award to Galgotias University chancellor Suneel Galgotia

The SRCC Distinguished Alumnus Award was presented by SRCC chairman Ajay Sharman and principal Smrit Kaur at the Delhi Gymkhana club.
NEW DELHI: Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) honours Suneel Galgotia, Chancellor of Galgotias University as a distinguished alumnus of SRCC. The recognition was awarded by SRCC chairman Ajay Sharman and principal Smrit Kaur at the Delhi Gymkhana club.
After completing his secondary education from St Columba’s School, New Delhi, he did his higher education from Shri Ram College of Commerce.
“His career kick-started in the early 1980s when he began tracking down serious entrepreneurship with a publishing venture. With the fast changing technology scenario, he progressively used the Nascent Computer boom with first, Indian authors and then with foreign authors and publishers,” the Galgotia University official website read.
Suneel Galgotia founded the Galgotias Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT) in 2000 with a strength of 40 students. Today, Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) alone has 4,500 students studying in various courses. In addition to the engineering college, he also started Galgotias Business School (GBS).
He has also received the DQ ICT award. Under his leadership, Galgotias University was awarded India Excellence Award in 2017 and National Education Excellence Awards 2017 by Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM).
This year, Shri Ram College of Commerce was ranked 11th in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF 2023) released by the minister of education.
