SRMIST, Techvantage AI join forces building agent-driven artificial intelligence training research ecosystem

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur campus, has signed an agreement with Techvantage AI to establish a long-term collaboration in Artificial Intelligence education, applied research, innovation, and talent development. The partnership will focus on Agentic AI and is aimed at integrating academic learning with industry-linked AI implementation.

Under the agreement, Techvantage and its spin-off, Zentis AI Technologies, will work with SRMIST to introduce industry-aligned academic modules, lab-based learning, and exposure to agent-based AI systems. The collaboration covers student training, faculty development, joint research, and industry projects within the academic framework.

Student participation in industry-led events

The collaboration includes provisions for joint research initiatives and the possible establishment of a Centre of Excellence focused on applied AI research and prototype development. Faculty members may participate in short-term industry immersion programmes, and both institutions may share platforms and infrastructure to support research and academic delivery.

“In the future, Techvantage and SRMIST may jointly explore the establishment of an Agentic AI laboratory on the SRMIST campus, subject to mutual agreement and alignment at a later stage,” the press release said.

Faculty role in AI training

Commenting on the collaboration, Techvantage AI CEO Deviprasad Thrivikraman Pillai said the partnership is aimed at enabling applied learning and exposure to agent-based systems within the university environment.

“It enables students to experiment with agent-based systems in a real lab setting while equipping faculty with the depth required to guide them. We believe this industry–academia bridge will help future-proof the workforce for an AI-driven world,” he said.
