JEE Main 2026: NTA issues advisory on photo mismatch

"The JEE Main 2026 will be held in two sessions, with session 1 registration conducted from October 31 to November 27, 2025. During scrutiny, discrepancies were found in identity documents and photographs submitted by some candidates," the notice added.

To address the issue, NTA asked affected candidates to verify their identity by uploading a signed and attested certificate along with a recent photograph certified by their school or college principal or headmaster.

However, following complaints about the difficulties in accessing verifying officials, the NTA has now allowed candidates to obtain attestations from Class-I gazetted officers, including Tahsildars, Revenue Officers, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, and District Collectors, and in the case of overseas Indian candidates, from Class-I gazetted officers of the Indian Embassy.
