SSC CGL 2024 final vacancy announced; option-cum-preference submission window opens for tier 2 candidates

SSC CGL 2024: The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 18,174 posts. The last date to submit the option-cum-preference form is February 27.
NEW DELHI: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has opened the window to fill out the option-cum-preference for posts and departments for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2024 exam. Candidates who appeared for the SSC CGL 2024 tier 2 exam should fill out the preference form through the official website at ssc.gov.in.

As per the official schedule, the last date to submit the SSC CGL 2024 option-cum-preference form is February 27, 2025, till 5 pm. Candidates must log in through the candidate's log-in tab and select their preferred posts and departments under the “My Application” tab.
“Candidates may please note that the Option-cum-Preference(s) can be revised only during the aforesaid period and Option-cum-Preference(s) last submitted by the candidate will be treated as final. Candidates must ensure that after filing their preference, they must submit the form by clicking the “SUBMIT” button,” the official notice said.

SSC CGL 2024: Final vacancy
The commission has also announced the final vacancy for the SSC CGL 2024 recruitment exam. As per the official final vacancy pdf, a total of 18,174 posts will be filled this year. Out of this, 7,567 vacancies are for the unreserved (UR) category, 2,762 for scheduled caste (SC), 1,606 for scheduled tribe (ST), 4,521 for other backward classes (OBC), and 1,718 for economically weaker sections (EWS).
The commission further informed that persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) candidates must ensure they select only those posts identified as suitable for their disabilities. If a PwBD candidate is selected for a post deemed unsuitable for their disability, their candidature will be cancelled by the concerned department.
The commission conducted the SSC CGL tier 1 exam on September 9 to 26 in computer-based mode. The SSC CGL tier 1 result was announced on December 5, 2025, to shortlist candidates for tier 2 which was held from January 18 to January 20, 2025, and on January 31, 2025.
