SSC CGL 2026 exam date out; tier 1 from September 30

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2026 tier 1 exam dates. According to the examination schedule, the SSC CHSL 2026 tier 1 will be conducted from September 30 to October 30, 2026. The SSC CGL tier 1 exam 2026 will be held in Computer Based Examination (CBE) mode.

The Commission conducts SSC CGL for recruitment to various Group B and Group C posts in ministries, departments and organisations of the Government of India. The 2026 examination includes posts such as Assistant Section Officer, Inspector, Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Accounts Officer, Sub Inspector, Auditor, Accountant and Tax Assistant. The SSC CGL 2026 notification lists approximately 12,256 tentative vacancies.

SSC CGL 2026 tier 1 exam pattern

The SSC CGL Tier 1 examination will consist of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 200 marks. The paper will have four sections—General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension.

Candidates will get one hour to complete the Tier 1 exam. The paper will have a sectional timer of 15 minutes for each subject. Candidates eligible for a scribe will get extended time as per SSC rules.

There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for every incorrect answer in the SSC CGL tier 1 exam 2026. Questions will be set in English and Hindi, except for the English Comprehension section.

SSC CGL admit card 2026

The SSC CGL 2026 tier 1 admit card is expected to be issued 10 to 15 days before the commencement of the examination. Candidates will be able to download their SSC CGL admit card 2026 from the official SSC website using their login credentials.

The SSC CGL admit card will contain important details such as the exam date, reporting time, exam centre, candidate details and examination-day instructions. Candidates should carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo ID proof to the examination centre.
