SSC CGL registration window closes on June 22; apply online for tier I and tier II exams on ssc.gov.in.

The Staff Selection Commission has released the official notification for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2026. Through this recruitment drive, SSC will fill a total of 12,256 vacancies across various Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts. Registration link is now active and eligible candidates can apply till June 22, through official website ssc.gov.in.

SSC CGL tier-I examination will be held in August-September 2026, and tier-II exams will tentatively be held in December. The recruitment drive includes several popular positions such as assistant section officer, inspector of income tax, assistant enforcement officer, sub-inspector in CBI and NIA, junior statistical officer, auditor, accountant, postal assistant, tax assistant and others.
Candidates will be allowed to edit their application forms after payment of correction charges.

The final allotment of posts will be based on merit-cum-preference submitted by candidates.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. The age limit varies depending on the post category. Cut-off date for determining age eligibility is August 1, 2026.

Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process if you are a new user
SSC CGL selection process involves two CBT exams. The Tier-I paper will carry a total of 200 marks and will be conducted for a duration of one hour and there will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer. Tier-II will include mathematical abilities, reasoning, english language, general awareness, computer knowledge test and data entry speed test. Separate papers will also be conducted for statistics and finance & economics posts.
The application fee for SSC CGL 2026 is Rs 100. However, women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from fee payment. The examination will be conducted across multiple centres in India including Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Jaipur, Guwahati and Hyderabad.
