Join Careers360 PremiumNEW DELHI: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the exam dates for the junior engineer (JE) paper 2 exams 2024 for civil, mechanical, and electrical posts. As per the official notice, the SSC JE paper 2 will be held on November 6, 2024. Candidates who qualify the SSC JE paper 1 will be eligible to appear for the next stage.
“The Commission has decided to conduct the Paper-II of Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) Examination, 2024 on 6th day of November 2024,” the official notice read. Candidates who qualify the SSC JE Paper 1 exam and are eligible for Paper 2 can apply for the SSC JE 2024 Paper 2 exam through the official website, ssc.gov.in.
The commission has increased the number of vacancies for Junior Engineer posts to 1,765. Initially, the SSC recruitment drive aimed to fill a total of 968 Junior Engineer positions in the civil, mechanical, and electrical fields.
The SSC JE selection process requires candidates to undergo Paper 1, Paper 2, and a document verification process. SSC JE Paper 2 will have 100 multiple-choice questions from the civil, electrical, and mechanical streams. Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks, while each incorrect answer will result in a deduction of 1/3 mark. The exam will have a duration of 120 minutes.

The SSC JE Paper 1 exam 2024 was held on June 5, 6, and 7, with the results announced on August 20, 2024. The SSC JE paper 1 scorecard 2024 was released on August 22 and candidates can download their scorecards till September 5, up to 6 pm.
According to the SSC JE paper 1 result, a total of 16,223 candidates qualified for the SSC JE 2024 paper 2 exam. Among them, 11,765 are eligible for civil engineering posts, while 4,458 have qualified for electrical and mechanical engineering positions.
