A large number of students had gathered in protest outside the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) office in Hyderabad, demanding a change in the examination dates for the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) post in the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department, as reported by ANI.

Candidates said the state-level exam dates clash with the central Staff Selection Commission Junior Engineer (SSC JE) examination, which is to be held on November 6, 2026. The TGPSC AEE (R&B) examination is scheduled for November 6 and 7, while the SSC JE examination will be held from November 2 to 6.

TGPSC AEE aspirants are concerned about the overlapping dates and it could force them to miss one of the examinations. This will limit the opportunities to get engineering jobs in state and central government departments.

TGPSC AEE Exam: Students demand rescheduling

Visuals shared by ANI show that, during the protest, students raised slogans against the commission and demanded that the AEE examination be postponed or rescheduled. They alleged that they had approached the TGPSC office several times to raise the issue but had not received a response. Police personnel were also deployed at the venue to manage and maintain law and order.

Candidates pointed out that both examinations are important for engineering aspirants who are looking for government jobs and said the overlapping schedule could affect their preparation and career pathway.

The protesting candidates urged the commission to revise the examination schedule, saying that a change in dates would allow aspirants to appear for both recruitment examinations without compromising their chances of securing government jobs.
