Institute of Chartered Accountant (ICAI) had postponed the CA May session exam dates for CA Intermediate and CA Final exams 2024. As per the revised schedule, CA Intermediate exams 2024 will be conducted on May 3, 5, 9 for group 1 and on May 11, 15, 17 for group 2. CA Final exam date 2024 for group 1 is May 2, 4, 8 and group 2 is May 11, 15, and 17.
The 2024 general elections began on April 19 and will continue till June 1, the election commission announced.
The Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra heard the matter today and observed that the CA exams 2024 have been scheduled to be held in 591 exam centres across the country and the ICAI exam date is not slated to be conducted on polling dates.
“Scheduling of exams pertains to policy decisions. But weighing the importance of the right to vote we have examined the proposition of candidates who shall be appearing for exams and would also need to vote. 591 centres are there and no exams on polling dates. At this stage when 4 lakh plus students have enrolled any relief at this stage would result in grave prejudice,” the court said, as per the Bar and Bench report.
A large section of CA students have started posting on social media about the alleged mismanagement and last-minute changes in exam centres .
