NTA issues SWAYAM January 2026 exam city intimation slip for 900 courses; exams scheduled from June 17 to 21
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued the Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) January 2026 semester examinations advance city intimation slip on the official website of NTA SWAYAM at exams.nta.nic.in/swayam. Applicants can download the city slip using the credentials, including application number and password.
As per the official notice, candidates should note that the exam city intimation slip is not the admit card for the examination. It has been issued only to inform applicants about the city where their examination centre will be located, enabling them to make necessary travel and accommodation arrangements in advance. The admit card for the SWAYAM January 2026 exam will be released separately at a later date.
The SWAYAM January 2026 semester exam will be conducted on June 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21, 2026 at different centres located across the country. The exam will be held for 900 SWAYAM courses.

SWAYAM January Exam 2026: Steps to download advance city intimation slip
To download the SWAYAM January 2026 semester examinations advance city intimation slip, aspirants can follow the steps given below:
- Visit the official website of NTA SWAYAM portal at exams.nta.nic.in/swayam
- Click on the "Advance City Intimation for SWAYAM-16 (January 2026 Semester) Exam" link
- Log in using the details, including application number & password and then submit
- Download the city intimation slip and take a printout of the same for further reference
SWAYAM January Exam 2026: Pattern
The exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and Hybrid mode (CBT + Pen-and-Paper) depending on the course and each paper will have a duration of three hours. The question paper will generally be in English, except for language-specific courses.

For most courses, the exam carries 100 marks. The pattern varies by course: some papers will have 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying one mark each, while others will consist of 50 MCQs carrying two marks each. Certain courses conducted in hybrid mode will include a mix of MCQs, short-answer questions and long-answer questions.
