Telangana Govt offers free screening of Gandhi movie in theatres for school students

As a part of 75th Independence Day celebrations, Gandhi movie is being screened free of cost from 10am to 1:15pm.
NEW DELHI : The Telangana Government has begun free-of-cost screening of ‘Gandhi’ movie, based on the life of Mahatma Gandhi, in theatres for all school students as a part of celebrating 75 years of Independence. The movie shows are being organized from August 9 to 11 and August 16 to 21 in 543 theatres across the state. The timings of the movie will be 10am to 1:15pm.
The Telangana government said in an official order, “Government have decided to screen movie ‘Gandhi’ based on the life of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, in all cinema theatres including multiplexes across the state.”

The state government has asked the Telangana Film Development Corporation to arrange availability of movie in suitable format for screening through Digital Service Providers, viz Qube and UFO to enable theatres to screen the movie.
“All the licensing authorities are requested to ensure strict compliance of the above instructions,” the government order added.
State Chief Secretary IAS Somesh Kumar and Special Chief Secretary Urban Development, IAS Arvind Kumar participated in the movie screening on the first day.
Arvind Kumar said in a tweet, “School children all excited & ready for "Gandhi" ! Screening at 543 theatres across the state starts today. Tremendous coordination between school education, police, dist administration and GHMCOnline ensuring smooth planning.”
