TS Inter Exams 2026: TGBIE revises fee; removes 5-year rule allowing failed students to appear

Download NowThe Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has increased the examination fee for Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) 2026 and extended the due dates for fee payment. The last date to pay the exam fee for Telangana board exams 2026 is November 14 without a late fee.

For TS Inter 1st year exams 2026, the fee for arts and science streams has been increased from Rs 520 to Rs 530. TGBIE has also introduced an additional fee of Rs 100 for English practical exams.
The fee amount for TS Inter 2nd year board exams 2026 has been revised and students will now have to pay Rs 630. Science and vocational candidates need to remit Rs 870 including Rs 530 for theory, Rs 240 for science practicals, and Rs 100 for English practicals.
TS Inter 1st, 2nd year time table 2026 is already out on tgbie.cgg.gov.in. Telangana Board Class 12 exams 2026 will be held from February 26 while Class 11 exams will start from February 25.
Provisions for improvement exams
Candidates who have passed two-year Intermediate course in the year 2024 and afterwards can improve their performance within two years. They can avail only two chances during this period. The passed candidates of IPE March 2025 can appear for improvement in IPE March 2026 as last chance, if they did not avail two chances during the previously held exams.

Those who wish to improve their performance have to appear for all the papers including practicals. The successful candidates have an option to retain the present performance or past performance which is beneficial to the candidates. There is no provision of best marks in individual papers.
Malpractice in Telangana IPE exams
TGBIE informed that the 2nd vear regular science candidates of general stream and 1st, 2nd year students of vocational stream booked under malpractice have to appear for both theory and practicals as and when they get eligibility.
Failed students get chance
Telangana Board has removed the 5-year rule wherein students were required to complete the Intermediate course within five years. If a student failed and didn’t clear all the subjects within 5 years, they were not allowed to appear for such exams. However, the board has now allowed such candidates to appear for the failed exams, no matter how old.
