The updated framework integrates classroom teaching with unit tests, project work, and practical assessments to ensure consistent academic tracking throughout the year, reducing reliance on final examinations alone.
Under the revised scheme, continuous assessment will carry 5 marks in each subject, combined with internal evaluation components such as projects, assignments, and practical work. The board has also formalised a structured unit test system, mandating four unit tests in Class 9 and three in Class 10, with best scores considered for half-yearly and annual performance evaluation.

The revised syllabus emphasises the integration of theory with application-based learning. Science subjects will include practical experiments aligned with theoretical concepts, while social science will incorporate project work and assignments based on real-world themes.
In language subjects, UBSE has strengthened the focus on communication skills by including listening and speaking components as part of internal assessment. Students will be evaluated through activities such as comprehension exercises, debates, and presentations, moving beyond traditional written formats.
