As per the announced schedule, the last date to register for the UCEED 2026 is October 31 without late fee. UCEED 2026 will be conducted in 27 cities across India. Candidates are required to select three preferred cities in order of priority during online registration.
The UCEED 2026 exam will be conducted on January 18, 2026, in a single shift from 9 am to 12 noon. The UCEED 2026 results are scheduled to be declared on March 6, 2026. Candidates will be able to download their score cards starting from March 10, 2026, through the official UCEED website.
The exam serves as the basis for admissions to Bachelor of Design (BDes) programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee, and IIITDM Jabalpur. Several other institutes also accept the UCEED score for admission to their BDes courses.
UCEED 2026: Eligibility criteria
Candidates, including foreign nationals, should meet the following eligibility criteria to appear in UCEED 2026.
- Candidates from OPEN, EWS, and OBC-NCL categories should be born on or after October 1, 2001, while those in the SC, ST, or PwD categories should be born on or after October 1, 1996.
- Candidates can attempt the exam a maximum of two times, and only in consecutive years. The UCEED score is valid for one year and can be used only for admissions in the corresponding academic year.
Qualifying examination
- Candidates should have appeared for the Class 12 (or equivalent) exam for the first time in 2025 or 2026.
- Students from all streams—Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities—are eligible.
- Candidates who appeared for Class 12 for the first time in 2024 or earlier are not eligible.
- Candidates already allotted a BDes seat in any participating institute after seat allocation closure are not eligible, even if they have a remaining attempt.
