UGC extends MOOCs, coaching, fellowship, scholarship, other schemes till March 31 next year

UGC has extended schemes like coaching for SC, ST, OBC students; post doctoral fellowships, CARE, STRIDE, establishment of chairs in universities etc.
NEW DELHI : The University Grants Commission (UGC) has extended the schemes such as the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), coaching, fellowship, and other schemes till March 31, 2024.

The following UGC schemes have been extended:
- MOOCs Swayam
- E-content development project - Assistance from UGC under NME-ICT
- Establishment of centres in universities for study of social exclusion and inclusive policy
- Women’s studies in higher educational institutions
a) Equal opportunity centre for colleges
- Coaching schemes for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe,, Other Backward Classes (OBC) (non-creamy layer) and minorities students for colleges
a) Remedial coaching for SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer) and minority community students
b) Coaching classes for entry into services for SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer) and minority community students
c) Coaching for national eligibility test for state eligibility test for SC, ST, OBC (non creamy layer) and minority students
- Scheme for Persons with Disabilities in universities and colleges
a) Higher education for Persons With Special Needs (HEPSN)
b) Financial assistance to visually-disabled teachers
- UGC research awards for faculty
a) BSR faculty fellowship
b) Emeritus fellowship
c) Fellowship for superannuated faculty members
d) Research award
e) Mid-career award
f) Research grant for in-service faculty members
g) Startup grant
h) Dr DS Kothari research grant for newly recruited faculty members
- UGC Fellowship for Post-Doctoral Researchers
