UGC invites applications for scholarships for 2021-22 academic year
Scholarships: The last date for applying online at the National Scholarship Portal is November 30

NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission has invited online applications for scholarships for the academic year 2021-22. Students can apply through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The deadline for filing the online application is November 30, 2021. The last date for verification of applications by institutions of students, including re-submission of defective applications, is December 15, 2021.

“The students are advised to submit their online applications well in time so that their institutions are able to verify applications within the prescribed timeline” - says the notification by UGC.
All online applications are through the NSP at scholarships.gov.in.
According to the UGC notification, students can apply for the following four types of scholarship schemes:
1. Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child (SGC)
2. PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder Candidate (URH)
3. Ishan Uday Special Scheme for North Eastern Region (NER)
4. PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST Candidate (PGSPROF)

Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child offers girl students up to the age of 30 years at the time of admission in the first year of PG courses with a fellowship amount of Rs 36,200 per annum for two years.
PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder Candidate is available to the student for the first PG degree only. The age limit for the students is 30 years at the time of admission in the PG course. An amount of Rs 3,100 per month for a tenure of two years is granted for this fellowship.

Ishan Uday Special Scheme for North Eastern Region provides a scholarship amount of Rs 5400 per month for a general degree course and Rs 7800 per month for technical, medical, professional and paramedical courses.
PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC and ST Candidate provides for those candidates selected for the award of PG scholarships (under ME/MTech.) with a scholarship of Rs.7800 per month for the duration of the PG Scholarship. For the remaining courses, a scholarship amount of Rs 4500 per month will be provided.
