UGC NET 2023 phase 1 exam begins; check guidelines here
Candidates appearing for the UGC NET June 2023 session exam are required to carry their admit card to the exam hall.

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June session exam from today, June 13. The UGC NET Phase 1 exam will be held till June 17. Candidates appearing for the exam can download the UGC NET admit card 2023 through the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
The exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test mode and there will be two papers with objective-type questions. A total of 50 questions will be in paper 1, while paper 2 will comprise of 100 questions from an optional subject.

As per the UGC NET 2023 paper pattern, for each correct response candidates will get two marks and there will be no negative marking for an incorrect response. Candidates will get no marks for questions unanswered, un-attempted or marked for review.
UGC NET 2023 Phase 1: Exam day guidelines
It is important for candidates to adhere to these guidelines and maintain a fair and disciplined examination environment.
- Candidates are advised to ensure that they reach their exam centre at least one hour before the scheduled entry time.
- It is mandatory for candidates to carry their UGC NET admit card on the day of the exam. Without the admit card, candidates will not be permitted to enter the examination hall.
- Additionally, candidates must also bring a valid photo identity proof for verification purposes.
- There are certain items that are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. Candidates are not allowed to carry instruments, geometry or pencil boxes, handbags, purses, paper or stationery, eatables, mobile phones, earphones, calculators, docu pens, slide rules, log tables, cameras, tape recorders, electronic watches, metallic items, or any other electronic gadgets or devices.
- Furthermore, smoking, chewing gutka, spitting, and similar activities are strictly prohibited in the exam hall.
- If a candidate is found in possession of any of the prohibited items or engages in any unfair means, their candidature will be cancelled.
