NEW DELHI : The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December 2024 January 3 exam concludes. The UGC NET December exam will be conducted from January 3 to January 16, 2025. The NTA UGC NET exam is being conducted in two shifts - shift 1 from 9 am to 12 pm and shift 2 from 3 pm to 6 pm. The test will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode.
The UGC NET exam 2024 is being held for 85 subjects at several exam centres across India. Candidates can download the UGC NET admit card 2024 from the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. It is mandatory for the examinees to carry the UGC NET December 2024 admit card to the examination hall along with a photo ID proof.
UGC NET 2024 exam comprises two papers. Paper 1 consists of 50 questions, carrying two marks each. Paper 2 includes 100 questions with a weightage of two marks each. The duration of the test will be three hours. For each correct answer, candidates will be awarded two marks and there will be no negative marking for incorrect responses.
The UGC NET exam is conducted twice a year to determine the eligibility of candidates for recruitment of assistant professors in Indian universities and colleges, awarding of the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and admission to PhD programmes.
