There is no limit on the number of attempts for the UGC NET exam. Candidates seeking to qualify for the position of assistant professor can take the exam as often as they wish. However, for eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), candidates must be under the age of 30 and can only attempt the exam while they fall within this age limit.

The UGC NET 2024 result will be announced shortly on ugcnet.nta.ac.in. This exam is intended for candidates aiming to pursue PhD research or become assistant professors at Indian colleges and universities. The National Testing Agency determines the UGC NET 2024 cut-off based on several factors:

• The number of candidates who took the exam.
• The difficulty level of the UGC NET 2024 question paper.
• Trends from previous years' UGC NET cut-offs.

The education ministry cancelled the UGC NET June 2024 exam, which was conducted for the first time on a single day, due to warnings from the National Cyber Crime Coordination Centre regarding possible security breaches. The exam, held on June 18, saw participation from over 9 lakh candidates and was conducted in pen-and-paper mode.

According to the NTA, 6% of the total candidates appearing for the UGC NET exam will be shortlisted for the merit list.

Re-evaluation or re-checking of the UGC NET result is prohibited. As per the official notification, no correspondence regarding this matter will be accepted. Candidates are only permitted to challenge the provisional answer key, and the final result will be determined based on the objections raised.

As per the UGC NET 2024 marking scheme, candidates will get 2 marks for each correct answer and there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Candidates belonging to the reserved categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) are required to score 35% in both papers to qualify the UGC NET 2024 exam.

Candidates belonging to the Unreserved (UR) or General category must achieve a minimum score of 40% in both papers to qualify for the UGC NET June 2024 exam.

• Sign up on DigiLocker using your registered mobile number or Aadhaar number.
• After logging in, navigate to the home page and click on ‘Get more now’ or ‘Get issued documents.’
• Select the UGC NET June exam 2024 from the available options.
• Choose either the UGC NET mark sheet or certificate.
• Enter your credentials and check the box to confirm.
• Proceed to download your UGC NET 2024 result.

Candidates can access the UGC NET 2024 results on the UMANG app by following these steps:

• Visit umang.gov.in or download the UMANG app from the Google Play Store or the iOS App Store.
• Register to create a new account.
• Locate and select the ‘NTA UGC NET’ option.
• Choose the UGC NET June exam 2024.
• Enter the required credentials.
• Download your UGC NET 2024 June scorecard.

Candidates can follow these steps to calculate their scores using the UGC NET answer key:

• Compare your answers with the UGC NET answer key.
• Award two marks for each correct answer.
• Do not deduct marks for incorrect responses.
• Add up the total marks.

The NTA cancelled the UGC NET 2024 exam at four centres: Dr. Ghanshyam Singh College of Education in Varanasi, Shankara Group of Institutions in Jaipur, Amatyas Global IT Solution in Jamnagar, and Jainee College of Engineering and Technology in Dindigul, due to technical issues and flooding.

• For multi-shift papers, the raw marks obtained by candidates in different shifts or sessions will be converted to NTA Score (percentile).
• If a subject test is conducted in multiple shifts, the NTA Score will be calculated based on the raw marks obtained by each candidate.
• The calculated NTA Scores for all shifts or sessions will be merged for further processing to determine allocation.
• In cases where the percentiles for the multi-shifts differ, the lowest percentile will serve as the eligibility cut-off for that category for all candidates.

According to the National Testing Agency (NTA)'s weeding out rules, the records of the University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024 will be retained for up to 90 days from the date of the UGC NET result declaration.

Career opportunities available after clearing the UGC NET include:

Assistant Professor: Candidates who obtain a NET certification and complete a PhD can apply for assistant professor positions at various universities across India, with openings available in both government and private institutions.

Junior Research Fellowship: Another avenue for UGC NET qualifiers is the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). This fellowship is awarded to the top 10% of UGC NET candidates and provides a monthly stipend from the government to support their research. For the initial two years, the stipend is Rs 37,000, which increases to Rs 42,000 upon attaining Senior Research Fellowship status.

As per the UGC NET marking scheme, candidates will receive two marks for each correct response, while there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. Additionally, no marks will be awarded for questions that are unanswered, unattempted, or marked for review.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to issue the final answer key for UGC NET 2024 soon. The results for UGC NET 2024 will be based on this final answer key, which will incorporate all valid objections submitted by candidates. This final key will be used for score calculations and result determinations.

According to the guidelines, if any question in the UGC NET exam is found to be incorrect, full marks will be awarded to all candidates who attempted it. This policy ensures a fair evaluation process by addressing errors in the question paper, assuring candidates that their efforts will be recognized, even in the event of exam discrepancies.

Candidates who took the UGC NET History exam 2024 reported more than 60 errors and noted that raising objections against these errors would incur a fee of Rs 12,000. Similarly, students who appeared for exams in Linguistics, Management, and English also expressed concerns, claiming that several questions had incorrect answers.

The UGC NET scorecard will include the candidate's roll number, name, category, subject, applied post, marks for Paper 1 and Paper 2, total marks, and the result.

Candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying marks to be considered for the positions of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

The results of the UGC NET re-examination conducted on August 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30, and September 2, 3, 4, and 5 are awaited. Candidates will be able to check their marks online at ugcnet.nta.ac.in after the official announcement.

Candidates will have to enter their application number and password to log in and download the UGC NET 2024 scorecard.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will activate the UGC NET 2024 result link on the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in, once it is announced. The UGC NET 2024 result is yet to be declared.
