The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) result June 2024 result on the UGC NET official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

To qualify the UGC NET 2024 conducted by the NTA, general category candidates will have to score a minimum of 40% and SC, ST, OBC candidates will have to obtain at least 35%.
Candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying marks to qualify UGC NET June 2024. The category-wise minimum qualifying marks for UGC NET are given in the table below.

As per the UGC NET June 2024 exam pattern, the test was held for paper 1 and paper 2. While Paper 1 comprised 50 questions carrying 100 marks, the second paper consisted of 100 questions having a weightage of 200 marks. The total duration of the exam was three hours without any break.

In a relief to research aspirants, the University Grants Commission (UGC) last year increased the amounts of various fellowship schemes such as the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). Candidates who qualify the National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) exam will be considered eligible for the award of JRF fellowships in various subjects. The JRF fellowship amount has been increased from Rs 31,000 per month to Rs 37,000 per month for two years.
As per UGC NET June 2024 information bulletin, after the declaration of UGC NET result 2024, the JRF-qualified candidates will have to appear for an interview for admission to the PhD programmes. UGC NET results 2024 are expected anytime soon on ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
Over 9 lakh candidates appeared for the June session of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) 2024 exam held from August 21 to September 5.
As per the UGC NET 2024 passing marks criteria, general category candidates require a score of above 40% marks in both papers together while SC, ST, and OBC candidates need 35% marks or above to qualify the exam.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will be using the UGC NET result 2024 for admitting candidates to its PhD programmes, starting from the upcoming academic session. The university took the decision to discontinue its research entrance test and mandate qualification in UGC NET exam for the PhD admissions.
NTA UGC NET result 2024 will be used to determine the eligibility of candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment of assistant professors in Indian institutions, and for admission to research programmes.
While UGC NET June 2024 result is yet to be declared, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release NTA exam calendar 2025 soon. Based on last year's trends, the exam calendar comprising UGC NET December 2024 exam date and tentative dates for other exams will be released in September.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) released UGC NET answer key 2024 on September 7 for some subjects and on September 12 for the remaining ones. Candidates were able to challenge the provisional answer keys till September 14 with an extended deadline. Several aspirants flagged errors in the history answer key, urging NTA to issue an updated version with the correct answers. According to the candidates, as many as 60 answers were given wrong in the provisional key of the history paper.
According to UGC NET June 2024 marking scheme, each question carries two marks. Candidates will be awarded two marks for each correct response. There will not be any negative marking. No marks will be given for questions not attempted by candidates or those marked for review. In case, a question is found to be incorrect or has multiple correct answers, candidates who have attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answers would be given marks. If a question is found to be incorrect and dropped, then two marks will be awarded to only to those candidates who have attempted the question.
UGC NET June 2024 was rescheduled after cancellation following a paper leak and was conducted on August 27, 28, 29, 30 and on September 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Demanding a notification on on UGC NET June 2024 result date or simply declaration of UGC NET result 2024, several candidates expressed anger over delay. An aspirant recalled how the last exam session result was declared within 15 days of publication of answer key. Another one asked for UGC NET 2024 results and said it's been 14 days. "What's the point of an online exam," the candidate questioned in a post on X.
