NEW DELHI: Defence minister Rajnath Singh today inaugurated Sainik School Jaipur, as part of the government's initiative to establish 100 new Sainik Schools across India in partnership with various stakeholders. Out of the 100 schools planned, the ministry of defence has approved 45 in collaboration with state governments, NGOs, and private institutions, with 40 already operational, including the Jaipur facility.

In his address, the Raksha Mantri expressed optimism that the school would serve as a valuable resource for the patriotic youth of Rajasthan, providing the necessary guidance and infrastructure for those aspiring to join the armed forces. He emphasized that the state, known for its valorous figures like Maharana Pratap and Prithviraj Chauhan, will inspire the younger generation to serve their country.

Background wave

Singh explained that while the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model traditionally emphasizes public sector involvement, it is evolving into a Private-Public Partnership, where the private sector plays a more pivotal role in driving the economy. He highlighted that these new Sainik Schools will unite public and private efforts to deliver top-quality education to future generations.

Emphasizing the crucial role of education in national development, he noted that Sainik Schools focus on the holistic growth of students—physically, mentally, and socially—while instilling values such as discipline, patriotism, and courage. This comprehensive approach aims to inspire students to contribute positively to the nation.

Finally, Rajnath Singh also acknowledged distinguished leaders, such as the current chief of the army staff General Upendra Dwivedi and chief of naval staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, are proud alumni of Sainik School, Rewa. He encouraged students to pursue various career paths, not only in the armed forces but also in other fields, urging them to stay committed and strive to achieve their dreams.

In September last year, the Sainik Schools Society and the defence ministry had signed an agreement with Shri Bhawani Niketan Shiksha Samiti for the establishment of a new Sainik School at Shri Bhawani Niketan Public School, Jaipur.
