Download nowThe Director General Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh will resume the UP NEET PG counselling from January 23 after postponing the admission process due to a delay in MCC AIQ counselling.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the revised AIQ and state counselling schedule after a prolonged delay. The MCC NEET PG counselling was put on hold due to the approval of new medical colleges and the addition of seats during the process.
Moreover, the ministry of health and family welfare has approved the reduction in NEET PG cut-off for general and reserved categories to the 7th percentile and 0 percentile, respectively.
The revised NEET PG cut-off has sparked concerns among aspirants and subject experts. While several termed it a “murder of merit”, a PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the decision to reduce the qualifying marks to zero.
Meanwhile, candidates who have already registered for the UP NEET PG counselling will not be required to register again for admission to government and private medical colleges in the state. Only candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be allotted seats, the state medical counselling committee said.
