NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh Police Constable recruitment exam 2024 has been marred by issues like paper leak and inadequate travel arrangements. In another shocking incident, the UP Constable admit card having the photograph of actor Sunny Leone and her name went viral on social media.
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPPRB) has recently clarified that the reports on UP Police Constable paper leak are fake. However, the 244 people have been either arrested or detained by the UP Police so far for allegedly adopting or planning to adopt unfair means in the recruitment exam, the PTI reported.
Videos of aspirants sleeping in railway station to give the exam on time the next day and ordeals of students who had to travel in railway lavatory was reported by several media firms and shared widely on social media. The officials have not responded on the inadequate travel arrangements or the error in the admit card.
The recruitment board conducted the UP constable exam 2024 on February 17 and 18. The exam was held in two shifts - morning shift from 10 am to 12 noon and second shift from 3 pm to 5 pm.
The applicant, Dharmendra Singh, who received his admit card with Sunny Leone’s image was from UP's Mahoba. As per reports, the recruitment board said that no candidate on the particular registration number appeared in the exam and the image was uploaded while submitting the application. The Cyber cell of Kannauj Police was investigating the case.
“People and gangs involved in adopting unfair means (in exams) will be caught and strict action will be taken against them," the PTI quoted Uttar Pradesh police chief Prashant Kumar. He also informed that most of the arrests were made before they could execute their plans.
