UP schools closed today; Lucknow University semester exams postponed due to heavy rain

Lucknow University semester exams to be held in the morning and afternoon shifts is postponed. New dates will be announced soon.
NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh schools affiliated with all boards up to Class 12 closed today, September 16, due to heavy rain in the state. Orange alert has also been issued to some districts due to intense downpour.
The Lucknow District Magistrate Surya Pal Gangwar issued an order today stating, “All government, aided, private and schools affiliated with all boards up to Class 12 will remain closed on September 16 due to heavy rain in the state.”
Lucknow University has also postponed the semester exam scheduled to be held today. The Controller of Exams, University of Lucknow informed students that as per the vice-chancellors order, “The semester examination of Lucknow University in the morning and afternoon i.e. in the first and second shifts is postponed due to heavy rain and water-logging. The date of the examinations to be held today will be announced soon”.

At least nine people were killed here after the boundary wall of an Army enclave collapsed following heavy rains, police said on Friday, PTI reported.
A belt of heavy rain will spread out over Bareilly, Pilibhit, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Mainpuri, Hardoi, Sitapur, Lucknow, Kanpur, and Prayagraj during the course of the next two days, according to the Indian Meteorological department.
